Heat and Energy Recovery Ventilators in Los Angeles, CA
Modern homes are built with energy efficiency in mind, meaning that they are often sealed up as tightly as possible. Although this is great for heating and cooling efficiency, it can have quite a negative impact on your indoor air quality. Tight sealing simply limits the amount of natural ventilation in the house. This is where heat and energy recovery ventilators come in.
JMS Air Conditioning and Heating installs and services both heat and energy recovery ventilators in homes across the Greater Los Angeles Area. Our service professionals are some of the best in the industry, offering solutions designed to maximize efficiency and comfort. All you have to do is get in touch with us today to get started!

What Are Heat and Energy Recovery Ventilators?
Heat and energy recovery ventilators, or HRVs and ERVs, are mechanical ventilators, but with a twist: they contain a heat exchanger. This allows them to transfer heat between airstreams, effectively ventilating your home without wasting the energy that you’ve used to heat or cool the outgoing air.
In the summer, for example, the HRV or ERV will transfer heat from the fresh, but hot, incoming air to the outgoing and stale, but cool, air. This precools the incoming air so that your AC doesn’t have to work so hard. In the winter, the process remains the same, but the heat is transferred from the outgoing air to the incoming air.
HRV or ERV: What’s the Difference?
HRV systems and ERV systems basically do the same thing in terms of temperature. The major difference between the two systems is that the energy recovery ventilator can transfer humidity in addition to heat, making ERVs a great addition for homes in areas that experience especially humid weather.
